WHAT DOES THE FCC SAY?
www.fcc.gov/media/radio/low-power-radio-general-information
Unlicensed operation on the AM and FM radio broadcast bands is permitted for some extremely low powered devices covered under Part 15 of the FCC’s rules.  (see link for details for each AM/FM spectrums) About “FCC certification” – homemade (and other FM radios less than or equal to One (1) Watt) are not certified (nor explicitly regulated per se) by FCC  *until* they violate the power max, or interfere with any other devices (like your neighbors’ computers,  cell phones,  radios, TVs, dog, cat etc.)One of these listed below has two modes,  1 Watt and 7Watts and claims FCC certification which can be verifiedhere:(www.fcc.gov2ASVO05B7CT200Site Survey:  Use one or more car radios in parking lot to find IF there are enough open spots within 4+ MHz of local US stations. So close to downtown it is important to buy a product ONLY IF sure that there are space(s) available on the public spectrum. This is why the less rated (and less crowded)  AM option is listed below.Other Church experiences:

How  Accurate are Amazon Reviews?

  • Using  Amazon’s ratings, products with (a) the MOST reviews and the (b) highest reviews are compared. This is not an absolute guarantee of best quality, so some helpful reviews are included to give you a better feel.
  • Hopefully, a product with 1000s of consumer reviews less skewed, less percentage of illogical, unfair, andeven wrong product reviews. Please spot check: read a few 3 and 4 star reviews; they are sometimes very instructive and helpful. But not always. Sometimes Amazon mixes different models’ ranking (stars) and reviews.Worse yet, sellers may bribe buyers with a gift if they give a 5-star review.  Caveat Emptor… buyer Be Aware!
